Support Compeer - Volunteer

Volunteering to be a Compeer mentor is easy, and we offer flexible programs to meet your busy schedule, from 1:1 mentoring to group skill-building activities.

Children and adults served by Compeer are referred to the program by mental-health professionals. Community volunteers age 18 and older, who are screened and fully trained, visit their friend and do the things they enjoy everyday – from taking walks to seeing movies, going out to dinner and taking in a sporting event.

To help you have fun, Compeer Rochester often provides free tickets to local activities such as concerts, movies and sporting events. Compeer Rochester also organizes special events throughout the year where matches can get together as a group to enjoy a fun activity.

Volunteers visit their Compeer friend for a minimum of four hours per month for a year.
