Adult 1:1 Mentoring

This program provides supportive, rehabilitative support to adults diagnosed with mental illness — and currently serves more than 300 adults annually. It is designed to help them become more integrated into the community, to develop positive coping strategies and to reach greater independence.

You can be a friend to an adult who is the same age, older, or younger than yourself and who has common interests. Friends meet at mutually convenient times to share activities, such as movies, plays, sporting events, trips to area parks, or simply to enjoy conversation over coffee.

Comprehensive training includes information about mental illness, individual and family dynamics, therapy and medications, communication, boundaries, roles of community service providers, and more.
