Compeer Rochester

Compeer Rochester helps children and adults overcome the devastating effects of mental illness, such as loneliness, low self-esteem and isolation - through the healing power of friendship. We offer – at no charge – an array of volunteer-based programs and services to provide supportive friendships for people in mental-health care or with emotional challenges. Our innovative programs, which serve as a complement to therapy, include one-to-one mentoring relationships, skill-building and interim telephone support. Unfortunately, today there are more than 350 children and adults waiting for a Compeer mentor.

By the Numbers
- More than 790 adults and children served in Rochester
- Nearly 750 community volunteers provide more than 22,000 volunteer hours annually

- Compeer is recognized as a best-practices model by the American Psychological Association (APA)
